Launching a raffle for our exclusive special edition bespoke 12” Tailors Shears in support of YWCA Yorkshire
We’re delighted to launch a raffle for a single pair of exclusive special edition bespoke 12” Tailors Shears, in support of YWCA Yorkshire.

The bespoke scissors
This exclusive pair of scissors features handles colour-matched to YWCA Yorkshire’s iconic purple, a gold-plated bolt, and is finished with the Whiteley crest, stamped using a newly commissioned tool made by fellow Sheffield company, Pryor Marking Technology.
As a nod to our shared heritage, the shears are also individually stamped “1 of 1” using a restored original Pryor hand-stamp set from our archives – a rare piece of scissor-making history.
The shears are presented in a bespoke wooden presentation box, laser-engraved with the YWCA logo, Whiteley crest, our master craftsman Andrew’s signature, and the YWCA Yorkshire strapline:
“Creating better futures for women, children & families.”
The box is also marked “1 of 1”, and the shears will never be produced in this format again.
You can learn more about the process of creating the scissors here.

Entries to the raffle cost £10 each, with all proceeds going directly to support YWCA Yorkshire and their work supporting women and children in the local area.
A one-of-a-kind piece, this is your chance to own a piece of Whiteley history, whilst also making a big difference to the lives of women in Yorkshire.

At Whiteley, we believe strongly in supporting our local community especially organisations like YWCA Yorkshire, whose values of strength, resilience, and empowerment resonate deeply with our own.
YWCA Yorkshire do incredible work with families locally in South Yorkshire, across Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield.
The charity supports over 250 people in their own homes, in the community, and through three housing projects, with plans to expand into other cities and towns in the near future.
We’ve developed an exclusive pair of scissors for an online-charity auction in support of YWCA, and money raised from the auction will benefit women, children and families who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, relationship breakdowns and financial hardship locally.
