This exclusive, one-of-a-kind edition of our iconic 12″ Classic Tailor’s Shears has been created to support YWCA Yorkshire, a charity devoted to creating better futures for women, children, and families across South Yorkshire. Through housing, and trauma-informed support, YWCA Yorkshire empowers those affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, and hardship to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Handcrafted in Sheffield by Whiteley, these shears bring together our scissor-making heritage with a powerful cause. The handles are finished in YWCA Yorkshire’s iconic purple, representing strength, unity, and resilience, while the bolt is gold-plated to add a distinguished, commemorative touch.
Above the bolt, you’ll find the Whiteley crest, freshly stamped using a new marking tool created in collaboration with Pryor Marking Technology, a fellow Sheffield company with a legacy dating back to 1849. Whiteley historically stamped every shear using Pryor’s tools, a tradition proudly revived for our most special editions.
To honour that legacy, this pair is also individually stamped “1 of 1” using an original Pryor hand-stamp set from our archives, a small but meaningful connection to our past.
Presented in a bespoke wooden presentation box, this special edition is laser-engraved with the YWCA Yorkshire logo, the Whiteley crest, the signature of our master craftsman, Andrew, and YWCA Yorkshire’s mission:
“Creating better futures for women, children & families.”
The box itself is also marked “1 of 1”, certifying that this edition will never be replicated.
Included is a certificate of authenticity, confirming the singular nature of the shears and their origin.
