Our traditional Leather Shears do exactly as they say on the tin. Handmade by craftsmen using traditional techniques passed down for centuries, our Leather Shears are tough and strong and able to cut through leather with ease.
Great for tackling tougher fabrics due to the long handle shanks for extra leverage, and offset handle bows for comfortable use. One serrated blade helps grip leather providing a powerful and accurate cut.
They will arrive packaged in our signature William Whiteley gift box and are also available with bespoke laser engraving creating a truly special and unique gift.

As an amateur leather worker I’ve worked for years cutting leather with a straight edge and Stanley knife. I’ve tried “shears” from hobby shops and the like but never with much success: the blades would veer off line or twist if the leather was 3mm thick or more, so cutting took an age, adjustments being necessary every 5 – 8 mm. I ordered a pair of your leather shears and used them for the first time on veg tanned hide, 5mm thick, more in hope but expecting the worst. Was I wrong! The shears are superb: the cut is clean, vertical and follows a marked line as easily as cutting paper. They fit the hand too! No more sore thumb! My wife reports that her pinking shears are excellent too, as are the large bow embroidery scissors – no more sore thumb for her either! We are slowly reviewing our stocks of tools and expect to be ordering more from Whiteley’s in the not-too-distant future
